The range of places to eat in the big cities is wide and increasing all the time. Smart restaurants serving European, Latin American and Honduran cuisine abound in Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, and the more touristy places, such as Copán and the Bay Islands, have a selection of excellent restaurants. Elsewhere, the choice narrows to comedores serving set lunches and dinners, consisting of the usual mix of beans, rice, tortilla and meat, and - very often - a Chinese restaurant, although the authenticity of these is variable.
